Trust & Accountability

Trust should be visible in how we work

We want people to understand how we protect participants, handle concerns, respect privacy and describe our work accurately.

Our trust principles

Protect

Put participant welfare first.

Respect

Treat people with dignity and maintain appropriate boundaries.

Use less data

Ask only for information that is genuinely needed.

Explain

Help people understand what is happening and why.

Verify

Describe programmes, partners and results accurately.

Be accountable

Take responsibility for decisions, authority and resources.

Raise concerns

Make it possible for people to report problems or ask questions.

Learn

Use feedback, evidence and incidents to improve.

Safeguarding and participation

Being an alumnus, mentor or supporter does not automatically give someone unrestricted access to a young person or their information.

Where children, mentoring, photography or personal information are involved, appropriate safeguards and permissions should be in place.

Safeguarding concern: email WhatNext Africa. Please share only the information needed for the concern to be understood and reviewed.

WhatNext Africa is not an emergency-response service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or statutory service in the relevant location.

Privacy, complaints and concerns

Privacy or account request: whatnextafricahq@gmail.com or review the Privacy notice.

Programme, conduct or other concern: contact us by email. Concerns raised in good faith should be received and reviewed appropriately.

We describe partnerships and sponsorships according to their actual status. A meeting, introduction, event appearance, donation or informal support does not by itself mean that a formal partnership or endorsement exists.
