Our Approach

Prepare early. Navigate change. Become established. Reach back.

We treat transition as a journey rather than a single event.

The full journey

Prepare

Get ready before the transition begins.

Exit

Complete or leave the previous stage.

Transition

Work through the period between stages.

Establish

Enter a suitable next-stage pathway and begin to settle into it.

Progress

Keep building stability, capability and independence.

Reach Back

Use experience, relationships or resources to support those coming behind.

The 90-Day Establishment Principle

Where reasonably possible, we aim to help a young person leaving one major stage become meaningfully established in a clear next-stage pathway within about 90 days.

The 90 days are a practical target for focus and follow-through, not a promise or rigid deadline. Admission, employment, income and other outcomes can depend on many factors outside WhatNext Africa's control.
